This policy describes how the 豆包超级助手 browser extension (the “Extension”, “we”) handles information when you use it. The Extension enhances the Doubao web experience: conversation organization, navigation, marks, prompts/skills, export, theming, context-menu helpers, omnibox db queries, and an optional local Shell / Native Host for file and command tools on your device. Data is stored on your device by default. There is no publisher sign-in or cloud account required for normal use.

This page is provided for the Chrome Web Store and for user transparency.

1. Summary

We do not sell your data and we do not use the Extension to build cross-site advertising profiles.
Normal operation does not upload your folders, marks, prompts, settings, or local file contents to our servers.
Core Doubao features run mainly on https://www.doubao.com/*. Context menus and the omnibox keyword db may be used on other pages you visit, primarily to send selected text or a page URL into Doubao—not to upload your full browsing history to the developer.
Optional local tools use nativeMessaging only after you install a local Native Host and enable the feature. Tool results stay between the Extension and that Host on your machine.

If you do not agree with this policy, please uninstall the Extension.

2. What the Extension does

Organizes Doubao chat history with folders, navigation, marks/highlights, and export.
Provides a prompt center, multi-step prompt queues, and slash skills on Doubao pages.
Offers selection/context-menu actions and omnibox db to open Doubao with a prompt.
Optionally, with Native Host installed: executes user-authorized local file read/write and shell commands requested from Doubao tool calls (delete-like actions require confirmation).

3. Permissions (as declared in `manifest.json`)

Permission	Purpose
`storage`	Stores settings, folders, marks, prompts, skill preferences, themes, and related local state in `chrome.storage.local`.
`tabs`	Opens or reuses Doubao tabs when you use context menus, omnibox `db`, or in-product navigation.
`contextMenus`	Adds right-click actions (explain / summarize / translate / rewrite, and summarize current page) that send content you choose into Doubao.
`nativeMessaging`	Optional. Communicates with the user-installed local Native Host (`com.doubao_suoper.shell`) to run local file/command tools. Unused until Host is installed and Shell Agent is enabled.
`host_permissions` (`https://www.doubao.com/*`)	Injects the content script that powers Doubao-page features (folders, navigator, prompts, Shell UI, etc.).

4. Information processed

4.1 Doubao page DOM (content script)

On Doubao pages, the Extension reads page structure needed for folders, message navigation, marks, composer automation, and optional Shell Agent tool loops.
This processing stays in your browser. We do not operate a backend that receives Doubao chat content.

4.2 Selection / page URL for helpers

Context-menu and omnibox flows may temporarily handle selected text you choose, or the current page URL for “summarize this page”, then open Doubao with that prompt.
Long selections may be truncated locally before insert. Content is not uploaded to publisher servers.

4.3 Local storage (`chrome.storage.local`)

May include folders and conversation mappings, marks/notes, prompt templates and queue state, skill preferences, theme settings, and Shell-related preferences. Uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension data typically removes it (browser-dependent).

4.4 Optional Native Host / local files

If you install the Native Host and enable Shell Agent, tool calls may read/write files or run commands on your computer under your authorization.
File contents and command output are exchanged only between the Extension and the local Host. They are not sent to publisher-operated servers.
Doubao (the third-party AI service) still processes whatever text you send in the chat itself—that is outside this Extension’s servers.

4.5 Network transmission

The Extension does not upload your local folders, marks, prompts, or Host tool payloads to publisher servers.
Opening Doubao or sending prompts uses Doubao’s own website/services under Doubao’s terms and privacy policy.
Packaged assets may load via chrome-extension:// URLs; that is not sending your personal content to third-party websites.

5. Third parties

Core Extension features do not rely on analytics, advertising SDKs, or remote databases from the publisher.
Using Doubao involves ByteDance / Doubao as a third party for the AI chat itself. This Extension does not replace Doubao’s policies for content you send there.
If optional network features are added later, we will update this policy and the store listing.

6. Security & retention

Extension data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall.
Local Host install files (if any) remain under user-chosen install locations until you remove them.
No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure.

7. Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 16 to collect personal data.

8. International transfers

Because core Extension data stays on your device, international transfer is minimal for extension-local storage. If you contact us by email, message handling may occur in countries where mailbox providers operate. Content you send to Doubao is subject to Doubao’s own handling and regions.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing where practical.
